2104 MUSICAL JOURNEY OF SPAIN – MONTSERRAT  Diane Bish visits the Montserrat Monastery which was founded by Benedictine Monks in the 9th century, destroyed in 1812 and then rebuilt with the completion in 1968.  In the Basilica with its ornate Shrine of the Black Virgin, she plays the largest of the shrine organs which was built in the late 19th century.  The monastery features beautiful stained glass windows and a library of 200,000 volumes and manuscripts.  Guest violinist Joy Brown Wiener joins Diane.  Music: Saint Säens “Havannaise”, Trad. “For All the Saints”, “Allegro” from Concerto in a minor”, Gigout “Toccata”, Mozart “Ave Verum” and Bach “Let Altogether Praise our God”.
